studio vee was started in 2010 by myself, Victoria Sangwine-Gould after a move to the pretty Stroud Valleys inspired a new venture. I graduated from Ravensbourne College with a Degree in Furniture Design in 1996 and followed a successful career as a designer of upholstered furniture - mostly sofas, chairs and beds.
Sold through stores such as John Lewis, Furniture Village, DFS and Feather and Black, a clear understanding of what each customer wanted was crucial. Working with factories in the UK, Eastern Europe and the Far East, specifying the right colours, textures and patterns of the furniture was one of the crucial elements of a popular design and is now an important feature in the work of studio vee.
Using commercial samples (which are sometimes destined for landfill), small lengths of beautiful designer fabrics and carefully selected Vintage fabrics and trimmings, I design and make individual accessories for the home. Cushions, doorstops, draughtstops and lavender bags are made as one-offs or in small batches, the quality of the stitching and finish being of great importance. I sell through this website, at local fairs and in quality independant shops. Trade inquiries are very welcome, my products are made to be special and will not be seen elsewhere.
It is hoped that studio vee products will give as much pleasure in use as I have had in making them.
